A Lake Cam is a high-res digital camera with a computer.  The Legend Lake Cam takes a picture every 5 minutes.  Software controls the camera settings, makes multiple sized pictures, labels the pictures, time stamps the pictures, weather stamps the pictures, and transfers the pictures for viewing on the Web site.

Q: I'd like to setup a Lake Cam for the Web site at my place, how much would it cost and what do I need?

A: You would need the following:

  • I would supply the software, camera, and computer to use for FREE.  Hardware prices have dropped significantly over the last few years and makes this possible.
  • A High-Speed line.  Dialup would work, but every 5 minutes when the picture is transferred your internet speed for browsing or e-mail would be a little slow.
  • You'd also be responsible for rebooting the computer and camera if there is a power outage.
  • That's it!  E-mail me if you're interested: mailbox -at- timothyarnoldroberts.com.
