Steve Vanden Heuvel called the meeting to order.

Tina Cain resigned the past month.
Also present Rick Moses, Lisa Wilson, Roy Stephens, Bob Hermes, Richard Kohls, Stan Wilson, Robert Kawalik, and Patrick Laux.
Visitor Comments:
Bob Hermes and Richard Kohls from Spotted Fawn came to discuss dead oak tree’s in the outlots behind their property. They asked the Board for permission to take the dead trees down. Nancy Pagel made a motion to allow Bob Hermes and Richard Kohls to take down the dead oaks provided an insurance waiver is signed. Dan Hedrich second. Motion carried.
Bob Hermes talked about the problems on the islands and horseshoe and asked the Association, the Lake District and the County to work together to get something done about this at the Land Conservation Committee meeting to get law enforcement involved and more informed.
Patrick Laux gave a verbal bid on lot 88 Mallard Bay for $1750. The Board asked him to put his request in writing and they would discuss it.
Roy Stephens, Robert Kowalik and Stan Wilson gave a biography and asked to be considered to finish Tina Cain’s term. The Board went into a closed session to discuss who to select to finish Tina’s term.
Action Items:
Pat Leitermann has decided to resign from the Board on this day, because he is not going to be able to attend the Board meetings. The Board has selected to have Roy Stephens finish Tina Cain’s term and Stan Wilson will Complete Pat Leitermann’s term.
There was a discussion about the property sales procedures. The Board decided to table the offers and put a hold on all property sales until further notice.
Outside Property Manager:
Rick Moses reported that the building has been sprayed for spiders & bugs.
Rick went over the money that John Wenning spent on Neighborhood Watch signs and asked for reimbursement to John Wenning.
John Wenning thought we should table the decision to split the gravel driveway/easement on Rick Moses lot (15BB) which would give us access to the Beaver Bay Beach Club. We should wait until Rick can get a perk test done, so that he knows where he is going to situate a structure/septic system on his property.
Action Items:
There was a discussion about the storage tents that are going up permanently around the lake. Dan Hedrich is going to put together in writing a proposal on storage tent use. It was also decided to check with the County to see if they have any rules on the storage tents.
Lisa Wilson passed around the Thank You cards for the Board members to sign for the Board members that are no longer serving on the Board.
Steve Vanden Heuvel asked for approval of Board minutes from September 12, 2008. Dan Hedrich made a motion to approve the minutes with corrections. Renee Towne seconded, motion carried.
Steve asked for approval of Disbursements/Unpaid bills for October. Steve Vanden Heuvel asked what the liability check was to CoVantage. Lisa said it was for Federal withholding. Pat Leitermann asked what the payment for Rural Mutual was for. Lisa stated it’s the insurance for the building. Steve asked about Cecil Truck and Excavating. Lisa stated it was for turning the compost site. Steve asked about the Menominee County Highway department bill. Lisa stated it was for gas. Renee Towne made a motion to accept the disbursements, Pat Leitermann made the second, motion carried.

Nancy Pagel stated that she will be bringing a representative from AFFLAC in to talk to the employees about supplemental insurance.
President:
Steve Vanden Heuvel talked about all the work Dan Hedrich has done to get the information out and set up the snowmobile club. Renee Towne reminder them that the MFL land is restricted from motorized vehicles.
Steve said the he will be attending the Land Conservation meeting.
Steve stated that he has been informed that there is an ATV trail being created on the Brave Island road island. Steve is going to place a ‘No Trespassing‘ signs out on the island and the person reporting it has been told to call the police.
Steve talked about the Lake Districts plan to fix the boat launch. Renee pointed out that the County is going to increase enforcement of power loading.
Committee Reports:
Internal Communications:
Tim Guzek is getting bids for the Smoke Signals and will have more information at the next meeting. Steve also told him that the Lake District wants to have a joint meeting to talk about Smoke signal issues.
Camping:
Tim told the Board that letters have been sent to the people with campers and that do not have a camping sign purchased and the campers that have purchased the sign, but have not posted it on their lot.
Office Managers Report:
Lisa Wilson asked the Board if an application on the compost site could be sent out with the dues notice and if the fee would be changing. It was decided to mail a notice with the dues and to look at the cost at the next meeting. They are also going to review the hours.
Legal:
John Wenning stated that he would like to meet with Randall Gast, our Lawyer and go over things. He also recommended finding out what the Tribe contributes to the County expenses, so that when people come to complain they have facts that disprove their claims.
Forestry and Outlots:
Renee Towne stated she has information on the carbon credit program if anyone was interested. Steve asked if copies could be made for everyone.
New Business:
There was a discussion on where to have the board dinner.
Lisa Wilson asked if the whole form needed to be filled out for next year’s camping sticker? It was decided that if it is the same camper, they could just sign a form that they received the camping rules and the new sticker. Renee pointed out it should also require that the trailer be connected to the septic system if it is on the property.
The next regular meeting is November 14, 2008.
