Tree Drops – A Fisherman’s Friend

You may notice something new along the sandbar area by Highway VV on Skice Lake.  Yes, there are trees intentionally in the lake!  Out of  boating traffic of course, but just right for the fish.  That area has always been a good fishing area and now it is getting even better.  The land owners, the County and the Lake District worked together to place these tree drops in this area to bring about restoration of the fish habitat that had been eroding due to land and sand erosion into the lake.  Don’t worry, there is still plenty of room for boaters to anchor by the sandbar and enjoy the warm summer weather and don’t forget to bring your fishing pole along!
