Garbage Disposal

There is garbage pick-up at Legend Lake.  Refuse must be bagged in clear bags and set at the road edge.  Recyclables are now picked up every week of the month and must be in blue or clear bags only.

Compost Site

Dumping leaves and/or brush in the forested areas and outlots of Legend Lake is prohibited by both State and County laws.  To avoid penalties of this kind, use the Compost Site operated by the Association for the convenience of its members.

Important Change:

The attendant on duty at the time of your first visit to the site will have you sign a Invoice/receipt to have a bill sent to your mailing address to collect the $25.00 fee for  the calendar year. (no money will be collected on site)  Or you may come to the Lodge office and pre pay the $25.00 fee. Please have your current membership card with you.  A paid receipt will be issued, which will grant you the privilege of use of the Compost Site during dates open listed above.

Leaves must be emptied from plastic bags and the bags taken with you.  The attendant on duty will determine the acceptance or rejection of any materials in question.

Brush brought to the site is chipped and is available to members in good standing.  Since the chips are quite popular, we request that you take only what you will use on your property at Legend Lake.  There is also black dirt available as the leaf piles decompose.

Grass clippings must be spread out – not left in clumps or piles.

Separate pine from hardwoods and place in appropriate piles.

Brush over 4” is to be placed in the camp fire wood pile.

*Optional.  Compost Site Manager has the option to vary the schedule due to weather conditions. Call the Lodge for verification if weather conditions are questionable.
