To LLOPA Members:
Menomonee County and the Lake District have asked that we consider closing the LLPOA owned Boat Landings. The reason: invasive species into our lake. We have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on the problem and the end is not yet in sight. The boat landings in question are the Hawks Nest and Silver Canoe landings. The landing by the Lodge, at Running Bear and by the dam will remain open. We are aware that this may inconvenience a number of members. However, we are sure that all members will agree that the high cost of treatment and invasive species potential far outweighs the inconvenience. As a result of the input from our members, there is a plan to allow members to purchase a special key for the lock at the Hawks Nest landing. There will be a substantial deposit for the key, it will not be reproducible and anybody interested in obtaining a key will need to sign an agreement. If there are any voilations of the agreement, the landing will be closed to all traffic.
We appreciate you for your understanding of our efforts to keep Legend Lake special.
